Why I Volunteer: Russ Megonegal

Years ago, I learned from J.P. Hall, Jr. what the Charities did for the needy children of Clay County at the Annual Christmas Party. Having been involved with public education for many years, I joined in.

To see the joy on the faces of the children, was reward enough for me. Later, when the Charities began the scholarship program, again I was delighted to witness the joy of the recipients. It is my hope that these programs will continue to serve the needs of Clay County children for many years.

The 39th Annual J.P. Hall Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, December 13th from 12 noon until 4:00PM.  In the interest of protecting both our volunteers and the families receiving gifts, we have made significant changes to the Christmas Party.

  1. The Party will be a drive thru event only and people will not be allowed of their vehicles.
  2. Children must be in the vehicle to receive gifts.
  3. Proof of Clay County residency will be required.
  4. No overnight stays in the parking lot will be allowed.
  5. There will not be bikes given away at this year’s event.
  6. We are not accepting volunteers.

We appreciate your understanding and compliance to these new requirements.
